The complexity of designing successful public policies requires the consideration of multiple aspects, reflecting the very diversity of the socio-economic environment. This paper shows the experience of teaching economics as an essential matter for students of a 's degree in social policies, which is designed in the context of an educational innovation group integrated by university professors in the Area of Economic Analysis at different Spanish and international universities. The students also come from different scientific areas and countries, participating in both face-to-face and online teaching modalities. In this context, a multidisciplinary approach is required, with a dynamic and open teaching methodology which becomes a fundamental axis for enriching learning. Results will lead to the improvement of professional practice in the field of public policy management as well as to open new horizons for multidisciplinary researching in the field of economics and other social sciences, contributing to the design and implementation of public policies.
